After years of touring only solo piano, 6-time Juno nominee and Steinway artist John Stetch is going on his first Canadian quartet tour in almost 20 years, thanks to Canada Council for the Arts.
The NYC-based quartet Vulneraville is Stetch's favorite project yet, and is his most energetic and playful vehicle for his original compositions.
The music ranges from swinging, toe-tapping jazz to east European flavors to classically influenced cinematic excursions. "My new sidemen make even my most complex tunes sound fluid, energetic, effortless and fun!" says the Edmonton-born Montreal Prix Du Jazz winner Stetch.
Cincinatti-born Steve Kortyka is a Yamaha saxophone artist who has been touring with Lady Gaga's jazz project, alongside other jazz work. Philippe Lemm is Holland's most in-demand drummer who studied Indian music extensively, and 25-year-old Rochester native Ben Tiberio has already played bass in the top clubs of New York City.
