Keith Price is a Winnipeg-based guitarist and composer. Beginning on his grandfather's old guitar, Price was first influenced by pop music, punk rock, and heavy metal before discovering jazz at age fifteen. Price began his formal studies at The Conservatory of Amsterdam and upon returning to Winnipeg, turned down a scholarship from The New School in New York City and instead, opted to study with local jazz guitar guru Larry Roy as part of Steve Kirby's newly-established jazz program at the University of Manitoba. Price is now enjoying an inspiring period of musical growth while studying with internationally recognized pianist and composer Michael Cain.

The Keith Price Double Quartet is an adventurous eight-piece group of musicians that explores jazz improvisation through the vehicles of groove and rhythm. The group's debut performance was of a new and largely spontaneous soundtrack for the classic western film "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" (treated as a silent film), created as part of Jazz Winnipeg's ground-breaking Nu Sounds Series in 2013. While drawing influence from Miles Davis' electric jazz period (1969-75), the group also incorporates rhythms and approaches from electronica and world music.

For their special two-night appearance at the Yardbird Suite, the Double Quartet will perform their improvised soundtrack for "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" on Friday, April 28, 2017, and material from their new album on Saturday, April 29, 2017.

Keith Price's fifth CD which will feature the Double Quartet will be released in the spring of 2017.
