Party: NEW SOUNDS OF COVENTRY

Barb’d Wire tread the path between the deepest darkest roots reggae, blistering ska and blue beat rhythms, social conscience and explosive live performance. Barb’d Wire are undoubtedly the most exciting and original prospect to emerge from the murky depths of Coventry’s back-streets for some years. Barb’d Wire –are a seven headed beast comprising of Trevor Evans aka the unshakable Coventry legend 'E.T Rockers', Graham... ‘Fingers’ Aitkin providing the solid, militant rhythmic backbone and Mark ‘Bigs’ Smith the bouncing bubbling specialist. John ‘Babyface Assassin’ Pudge provides the brassy trumpet tones via Tijuana and smoky New York basements and Ryan Every‘s guitar echoes and blistering blues licks reverberate via Nashville and Brixton. Up-front are the double-edged vocal onslaught of Lloyd McGrath and Cherelle Harding; melodies form a fusion of sultry and seductive to rabble-rousing war cries. Having both melodic prowess and lyrical conviction to both stop tracks and move feet. Having torn apart dance floors, blown roofs and shaken the foundations for the best part of a year, Barb’d Wire have graced the stages of prestigious events such as Skamouth, Godiva Festival and Folkestone Ska Splash, shared the stage with such reggae legends such as The Pioneers, Jerry Dammers and Roy Ellis. With their intoxicating stage presence Barb'd Wire's manic, loyal and frankly well-dressed fan-base grows ever quickly with each incendiary performance. Their brand new EP entitled ‘Stayin’ In’ has set an incredibly high standard and was produced by none-other than the legendary Grammy award-winning producer Roger Lomas who ranks these 4 tracks as vital as anything he has ever done. This 7 piece mix N blend innovate with contrary forces and bring a heavy sound which cannot be easily categorized. While others may think outside the box; Barb'd Wire completely destroy it!
