Party: Makaton Beginner's Workshop DAY 2 (2 Day Course)

The Beginners' Workshop provides a practical introduction to the Makaton Language Programme.

Sessions include discussing commonly asked questions, hints and tips for effective signing and symbol use and how to start using Makaton in everyday situations at home or work.

You will also learn the signs and symbols for Stages 1-4 and Additional of the Core Vocabulary

Duration

The Beginners' Workshop is made up of 4 modules which will be be delivered over 2 days:
Day 1 - 09:30-16:30 Thursday 25th January 2018
Day 2 - 09:30-16:30 Thursday 1st February 2018

You will receive two workshop manuals, which include the signs and symbols that you have learned. You will also be given a certificate of attendance.

This is a fully accreddited course, delivcered by a tutor from the Makaton Charity. We have 12 places available on this course, which are primarily aimed at parents of children or young people who have significant speech and communication difficulties. Should we have any places leftover, professionals may book onto the course.

The cost of the courses are:
£30 Parent carers of people who are non verbal or have severe problems with communication
£80 Teaching assistants/ care workers/ people who are doing the course for professional development
