THIS EVENT DESCRIPTION HAS BEEN UPDATED 2.7.
This year BoulderRock Outdoor edition will focus on deep water solo (DWS) and thus the name BoulderRock Plunges. Prior climbing experience is not necessary but swimming experience is, if you know what we mean ;)
Route masters Madis Pukkonen, Lauri Miller and Ruslan Aizatulin have already prepared the routes and we are now just anxiously waiting for the event.
Participation fee of 10 eur is to be paid in cash on arrival to Hara. Please mark going in Facebook if you plan to participate. There is no other pre-registration.
There will be:
- A sauna tent during the day and the evening.
- A bonfire in the evening where you can grill... your tight buns (heh heh).
- Slack line above the water (known as a waterline among slack dudes and dudets).
- Rowing boats (but we really, really need a few more, thus if you know of one that we could borrow and we indeed also get to borrow that one, we will exchange that to a free entry).
- WC and parking possibility about 200 m from the climbs (no parking on any part of the pier in order to make sure riot police can easily roll in).
- A possibility to stay over night at Hara harbor in your own favourite tent, hammock etc.
In the unlikely case of weather being rainy, the event will be moved to a later date. As long as the water stays soft (i.e. does not freeze), refreshing water temperature is considered only an extra motivator instead of a hurdle for organizing the event.
In case you want to come to watch or bring someone along who will not climb, you are welcome to do so at no cost. Please note, that climbers have priority in the boats.
If you are coming with a car and have space or if you are looking for a ride, please let others know about it in the event discussion.
Climbing shoes will not get ruined if they get wet - they just get wet.
Should you want to rent shoes from Ronimisministeerium for this event we charge 5 eur as a rental and drying fee. The rental fee is the same for both regular and pro-shoes. If you want to rent shoes, plese let us know about this beforehand as we will not bring all shoes along.
