Party: Townsville Tourist Trophy incorporating 2017 QSCC & QSMC

Road Racing Association of Townsville presents the Townsville Tourist Trophy incorporating the 2017 Queensland Short Course Championships for Moderns, Historics, Solos and Sidecars. This event will also include the 2017 Qld Supermoto Championships for juniors and seniors.
This meeting will be held as a two day event, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 August with an optional practice session for riders to familiarize themselves and fine tune their bikes to the track on Friday 26 August. A full programme with the publication of the Final Instructions will be available closer to the meeting.
A free BBQ get-together for everyone will be held on the Friday, early evening. We hope this to be a friendly introduction to the RRAT club, members and officials, and the perfect way to meet other competitors or just catch up with old friends and fellow riders.
As well as all of the normal championships classes, the One Hour Challenge to be held on the Saturday night under lights will be a great spectacle. Teams consist of two riders on one or two bikes vying to be the fastest as well as putting in the most amount of laps in that sixty minute timeframe. This race never disappoints with lots of speed, thrills and spills. This is just one of the many feature races being held at this meeting. Of course, the Side-Car Feature Fancy Dress goes without saying. Riders and their passengers each year impressing the crowd with their colourful costumes and antics parading around the track on their machines. We are also hoping to see a great grid of Historics this year, their owners each meticulously tuning and polishing their pride of joy to show off to the crowds, not to mention the many classes of modern bikes competing in their respective fields.
The roar of the Supermotos racing around Suncity Raceway goes without saying.

Our winter weather in Townsville at this time of year is perfect for the donning of leathers, boots, helmets and gloves, and our track is within about eight minutes in either direction of all amenities - accommodation, restaurants, supermarkets and petrol.
FREE camping is available for all travellers at the track with full amenities available (toilets & shower). There will be a food van at certain times at the track and the club will be selling drinks. The water at the track is not suitable for drinking so we encourage everyone to BYO.

Please note, ONE EVENT LICENCES ARE AVAILABLE this year for all classes of entry, not just historics as was the case in previous years.

With such a full schedule of racing offered over two days, with the ability for riders/bikes to cross over into other classes as well as the feature races, both for juniors and seniors, we are hoping this meeting will offer competitors “bang for their buck”
