Michael Foster attended Bard College in upstate New York, studying with Thurman Barker, Richard Teitelbaum, and Marina Rosenfeld, studying jazz, electronic music, and composition. Outside of Bard College, Michael has studied saxophone with Ralph “Buzzy” Jones, Ellery Eskelin, Travis LaPlante, and Charles Gayle. Michael has played and performed with Thurman Barker, Han Bennink, The Sediment Club, Austin Julian, Mary Oliver, Austin Peralta, Wolter Wierbos, Weasel Walter, Marc Edwards, Mark Sanders, Paul Flaherty, Michael Evans, Anne La Berge, Andreas Fulgosi, Tristan Shepherd, Kid Millions, Laurens van der Wee, Eric Boeren, Bart van der Putten, and many others. Michael plays tenor, baritone, and soprano saxophones, clarinet, bass clarinet, homemade reeds, electronics, and samples. current ensembles: -GALM Quartet -Foster/Swell/Millions Trio -See Something Say Something -Zombi Jazz -Thurman Barker Quartet.

New York City-based German-French bassist, composer and improviser Pascal Niggenkemper is a performing and recording artist active on the creative music scene in the US and in Europe.
From 1999-2005 he was active in the music scene in Cologne having studied jazz & classical double bass at the Hochschule für Musik. In 2005 he received the DAAD award and moved to New York.
From 2008 to 2010 Pascal led the PNTrio with Tyshawn Sorey and Robin Verheyen. (CD "pasàpas" Konnex 2008 & “urban creatures” JazzHausMusik 2010). The trio toured extensively in Europe. Performances at the Jazzcologne Festival, Jazzherbst Konstanz and at the Kennedy Center in Washington. Recordings for the WDR and the BR Radio.
In cooperation with Jazzdor Strasbourg-Berlin, Pascal formed the septet vision7 that performed at Jazzdor Strasbourg-Berlin, Vive le Jazz in Cologne, Jazz à la Cité in Paris and at the Pori Jazz in Finland. Their CD ‘Lucky Prime’ will be released on clean feed records this autumn.
In September 2011 Pascal released with Simon Nabatov and Gerald Cleaver the CD/LP upcoming hurricane on NoBusiness Records which is listed among 'Albums of the year' 2011 in the 'The New York City Jazz Record'. The trio performed in Canada and the USA in 2012.
He recently recorded a new solo program called: ‘see with your ears’ music for bass & shade which was premiered at the Jazzdor Festival in Strasbourg in November 2013.
Pascal is also co-leading the groups baloni with Frantz Loriot viola and Joachim Badenhorst clarinets (CD ‘fremdenzimmer’ Clean Feed Nov 2011) PascAli a duo for two prepared basses with Sean Ali (CD ‘suspicious activity’ creative sources September 2012), ‘one for the dark’ a trio with Dan Peck tuba and Jeff Snyder analog synth and speaking tube with Emilie Lesbros and Frantz Loriot.

Michael Evans is an improvising drummer/percussionist/ thereminist/composer whose work investigates and embraces the collision of sound and theatrics.While his primary instrument is an unconventionally altered drumset, his work with unusual sound sources includes found objects, homemade instruments, the theremin and various digital and homemade analog electronics.

He toured internationally with God is my Co-Pilot in the 90′s, performed solo percussion at Het Apollohuis in Eindhoven, Netherlands, with Gordon Monahan in Munich, Germany, and in an impromptu series entitled “Purgatory”, presented by Alexander Hacke (Einsturzende Neubauten) in Berlin, Germany. He toured Japan with percussionist Samm Bennett in 2005, went to Sweden with Anders Nilsson and “Fulminate Trio” in 2006, and performed with Fast Forward in “Music a la Mode” at Sophiensaele in Berlin in 2010.
His work with the theremin varies the quality of its sound through set-up and technique. On the theremin he has performed with dancers and in group settings playing experimental, jazz, rock, ersatz lounge and chamber music. In 2000, he was photographed playing a Moog ether wave theremin for the front of Bob Moog’s Big Briar catalog. He has performed in multiple performances of the NYC Theremin Society’s concerts 2005 – 2012 at Issue Project Room and at Joe’s Pub.
He was selected for a composers fellowship to Music/Omi 2001, part of the International Music Colony @ the Art Omi International Arts Center, in Ghent, N.Y. During the summer of 2003, he participated in Baltimore’s High Zero Festival, an ongoing, yearly improvisational festival featuring musicians from the USA and abroad. Every August since 2006, he has been happily teaching percussion workshops to children, performs as a musician and often times helps out by cooking meals at the Electric Eclectics festival (Festival Of Modern Music And Irritainment) in Meaford, Canada presented by Gordon Monahan, Laura Kikauka and Chris Worden.
