After giving us the all-time classics ‘Take You Higher’, ‘Reason’ and ‘Tokyo By Night’, Australian writer and producer Anthony Maniscalco, otherwise known as Hook N Sling, has a proven record of only releasing records that cut through and show a constant evolution ahead of the game. He continues to push his sound and the scene forward, first with the #1 DMC Buzz Chart and career defining single ‘Momentum’, and most recently with his genre-defying ‘Break Yourself’ with Far East Movement.
As the first single released on Interscope since signing last year, ‘Break Yourself” was added to BPM/SiriusXM, has over 2.3 million plays on Spotify so far, and featured a rap remix from hip-hop great, Pusha T. His remix of Galantis’ ‘Gold Dust’, and prior to that Lana Del Rey’s ‘Ultraviolence’ (5.7m on Spotify), are more in the long line of classic re-interpretations that cement Hook as one of the most thoughtful and effective remixers in the scene.
