An original member of the iconic and record-breaking group The Fugees who sold over 15 million copies of their Grammy winning, sophomore effort, The Score. Wyclef Jean followed up the Fugees success with his first solo project The Carnival. The Carnival was a commercial and critical success garnering multiple Grammy nominations and Platinum certification. Wyclef’s unique brand of music had arrived. He has produced hit songs for Destiny’s Child, Whitney Houston, Carlos Santana and Shakira. His production on Santana’s multiple platinum album Supernatural earned him a Grammy award. Wyclef’s Grammy nominated collaboration with Shakira, Hips Don’t Lie reached the number one spot on charts in 55 countries, including the U.S. BillBoard Hot 100. Wyclef has worked with some of the top names in the music industry including Michael Jackson, Nora Jones, Bono, Mick Jagger, Tom Jones, Eric Clapton, The Black Eyed Peas and Mary J. Blige. Clef is revered as an emissary of world music and an ambassador for his native country of Haiti where he was a candidate for President in 2010. Clef continues to highlight the issues facing his native country via his many philanthropic endeavors.
