Happy new year from everyone at Montrose Folk Club and we kick off the year with the fantastic Rod Clements And Ian Thomson.

Rod and Ian are members of the current Line-up of the legendary North East of England Band, Lindisfarne. In fact, Rod Clements is the only remaining founder member of Lindisfarne in the current Line-up.

The career of Rod Clements reads like a Who’s Who of contemporary British Folk Roots music. His career spans over 30 Albums and several Chart Hits, including the first single hit for Lindisfarne in “Meet Me on The Corner” which Rod wrote.

Rod Clements was also a founder member of Jack The Lad, the Lindisfarne spin-off Band, in which he played a significant role as Multi-Instrumentalist and Songwriter. Rod Clements was originally the bass Guitarist in Lindisfarne, a role which he relinquished in 1990 to Ian Thomson. Rod now concentrates on playing fiddle, mandolin, dobro and electric slide guitar in addition to Singing and Songwriting.

In his appearance at Montrose Folk Club, Rod Clements will be accompanied by fellow Lindisfarne member, Ian Thomson, on bass guitar and backing vocals.
