Rab Noakes is a true Icon of Scottish Music.
Rab will be appearing at Montrose Folk Club as part of an extensive Tour throughout Scotland in 2017 to celebrate what is his Seventieth Year and the Fiftieth Anniversary of his first properly-billed paid gig.

The first Rab Noakes album entitled – “Do You See The Lights?” (still well worth a listen) was released in 1970. Shortly after that he became a Founder Member with the late-lamented, Gerry Rafferty, in Stealers Wheel. Rab later played on some of the Gerry Rafferty solo albums.

The outstanding Rab Noakes Album, Red Pump Special, recorded in Nashville in 1974 was re-released in 2014. This was followed by the release in October 2015 of a double CD of new original material and distinctive Covers called “I’m Walkin’ Here”.

Rab Noakes is an accomplished Songwriter, whose songs reflect his lifelong interest in popular Song, particularly that of the USA, in Folk Song and in Songwriting. Alongside his acclaimed performance skills, as applied to his own compositions, his celebrated interpretations feature songs from many diverse sources, covering the whole spectrum of the North American Songbook.
