The headline acts for this epic bank holiday all dayer, include the legendary JUDGE JULES, who will be supported by SON of 8 - and then as the moon rises the eclectic sounds of JAMES LAVELLE.(UNKLE) will illuminate the main room. Residents Adam Symbiosis, Craig Gunn and Stakker will be curating proceedings for their 7th year in this inclusive, uplifting and memorable showcase party....
Judge Jules
International DJ, producer, presenter and lawyer, Judge Jules is one of the most popular, in-demand and influential figures in dance music history. Jules’ DJ sets are the epitome of passion and crowd-connection and has earned him his place amongst DJ aristocracy. Jules’ presence on the dance island of Ibiza is legendary with his own weekly branded night Judgement Fridays (formerly Judgement Sundays), which still rocks today. On the airwaves Jules’ podcast is one of the most subscribed to on the planet with 750,000 downloads per week and Jules has enjoyed a hugely influential radio heritage from Kiss FM to BBC Radio 1 and now his internationally-syndicated Global Warm Up show. Jules has released over 100 productions and remixes to date, plus three artist albums. His 2014 track “Collide” peaked at no 1 on the Beatport chart. Jules has created countless DJ mix compilations, including the legendary Ministry of Sounds’ Annuals, Clubbers’ Guide and Trance Nation. Altogether Jules has racked up well over three million compilation sales, with many releases reaching Platinum, Gold and Silver status. It is an honour and privilege to welcome Jules to close the terrace on hopefully a beautiful sunset at the Lost Dawn all-day event in Brixton.
James Lavelle
James Lavelle co-founded the revered left-field hip-hop label Mo Wax, the U.K. home of DJ Shadow's groundbreaking Endtroducing. Since the early '90s, Lavelle has led the long-running UNKLE, a collaborative project that has grown increasingly eclectic with each remix (including commissions from Radiohead, Massive Attack, and Robert Plant), studio album (beginning with 1998's Psyence Fiction), and film project (such as 2005's Odyssey in Rome). Although the London native was still a teenager when he and partner Tim Goldsworthy started Mo Wax, Lavelle was honing his DJ skills earlier than that, and remained in-demand on local and global scales through the mid 2010s. Lavelle has put together several commercially released DJ sets, including the first volume of FabricLive (2001) and several installments for Global Underground (2002-2015).
Son of 8
Lost Dawn give a debut welcome to Judge Jules warm-up act. SON of 8 are two life-long friends from Liverpool, with a love for razor sharp electronic sounds. Their music tips a hat to the classic beats of Chicago, whilst reinvigorating it with elements of pop, electro, uplifting EDM breakdowns and bottom-heavy, deep house drive.
Sister Gracie (live)
Lost Dawn welcomes to our live band stage for a debut set SISTER GRACIE. A blend of dark pulsing synth, fuzzy guitar and inspired by the new romantic style but with a modern twist. The clear baritone vocal of Max Walker is reminiscent of Ian Curtis and Scott Walker according to BBC Introducing. They have just released a five track Ep 'Animal' in which the lead track 'Fires' reached 'Track Of The Week' on Simon Raymonde's iconic Amazing Radio show, plus receiving high praises from the likes of 'Noizze', “ArtRocker', 'Louder Then War' and 'Mystic Sons'. Accompanied by childhood friend James Latto for the live set, the pair create a high energy blend that balances the dark and euphoric. “Whirring synths, funk rhythms and hand-claps all come together to form the super catchy Sister Gracie” Time Out.Plus many more DJs and bands to be annouced!
Piqué
For a debut set to Lost Dawn we bring one of the UK’s brightest DJ/Producers, Piqué (formerly known as PK). Former resident for Ministry of Sound parties at Pacha in Egypt’s Sharm-el-Sheikh, Piqué has held residencies with London’s Pacha Beyond, Peach, Raindance, and has played guest sets for the likes of Hed Kandi, The Gallery, Kiss 100 and many more.
On air, Piqué showcases the crème de la crème of upfront house tunes. Whilst at Ministry of Sound radio Piqué gained a global audience, and now with Slinky FM, Piqué’s “Global House Broadcast” has won international acclaim.
Working with a host of artists under a number different names, Piqué’s tunes have been featured on some of the biggest compilation CDs in the world. Now focussing on his own material using his Piqué guise, you can certainly expect big things.. and we can't wait to see him for the first time at Lost Dawn...
Latex Zebra vs B.S.E
Kicking off the terrace in the fading sun of the afternoon, we bring back repeat offenders for a special Brixtonian DJ back2back, Latex Zebra and B.S.E. Residencies galore between them including Zoology, Alumni and TechStyle, they will put aside their hard trance roots for one day to give us the perfect warm-up for Jules with some perfect ‘judged’ hands in the air house music….
Greg Brookman
With a string of hi-energy trance and dance productions to his name on such labels at Nukleuz, Impact, Riot and Edison Factor Greg's pioneering, uplifting and punchy sounds are still developing today as he delves deeper into more experimental sounds. Rarely does his showcase his music - so looking forward to him escaping the studio and steaming up the Boiler Room.....
Magroo vs Painter
Celebrating his ‘ahem’ 40th birthday with a special set at Lost Dawn…
Having spent much of his DJ career heavily involved in the Cambridge hard dance scene. Magroo was resident at the massively successful Immersed for 4 years and ran Journeys at the Man on The Moon for a number of years afterwards, as well as being a regular on the Cambridge outdoor free party scene.
One of his most memorable moments behind the decks was opening the main room of the Brixton Fridge for Alignment.
Magroo’s wingman for this exclusive set will be Painter – fresh out of the studio producing his new track ‘REACTOR’ alongside Carl Nicholson, this DJ veteran of 16 years has warmed up for the likes of Slipmatt, Ratpack, Jon doe and Kevin Energy.
They’ll be dishing up an upbeat and energetic set - so get ready for some proper hands in the air action!
Miles Gorfy
"Closing the Boiler Room with a banging hard trance set, we have HarderFaster.net legend Miles Gorfy. With over 15 years experience, playing both nationally and internationally, his inimitable, uplifting and energetic style has established a reputation like no other.
Host to the increasingly popular 'HDM @ Club 414', the small club with the Big DJs, pushing forward the latest sounds of hard dance and resident dj at Subversion, providing filthy beats for filthy minds.
With an enviable list of events to his name that include Tasty, Frantic, Hard House Academy, Sundissential and Polysexual and not forgetting the much revered Smile CD, this is one DJ that never disappoints.
'Who wants one more?'"
Sassan Darvish
Trusted with our terrace warm-up for Monaco Nights recently, Sassan Darvish has proved himself a reliable session DJ and will this time be co-ordinating and playing between the live-bands in the main room for our evening headline sets. Expect a deft selection of tunes inspired by his beloved Berlin sound…
Ben Haigh
Our competition winner!!! His sound ranges from Indie Disco to Techno, and his largely summer vibes mixing has seen him play over the last six years to crowds at the Ministry of Sound, Amnesia and Gigalum. He is apparently also dipping his toes into production so we wish him well on future label releases...
Jack Van Challis
For a Lost Dawn debut we welcome a veteran of the party scene with 14 years experience - London based DJ Jack Van Challis. Playing trance and hard dance in all it's forms, Jack will bring late night madness and 140 b.p.m uplifting tech trance anthems - old and new for those that can last the course...
Adam Symbiosis
Normally sitting in his trademark closing set, expect hands in the air madness from Adam Symbiosis as he brings you the very best that electronic dance music has to offer, no matter the genre. And then there is always that one last surprise tune....
Craig Gunn
A "Mixmag One To Watch", opening the main room at The Electric for Astrix and as always taking the reigns at Lost Dawn, watch out as Craig Gunn opens up for our massive headliners with his unique, disco led techno sound.
Stakker
Our newest resident, Stakker, is as much at home playing post-electro rave as he is sweaty 4am techno and brings an exciting added dimension to the team. Stakker also curates and comperes our live bands so keep your eyes peeled for some exciting acts coming to the main room.
