Party: The Magical Umbrella

The Magical Umbrella
Tuesday 22 March, 1pm
Wednesday 23 March, 7.30pm
The Courtyard, Hereford, HR4 9JR

An accessible performance of dance, film and live music

Does your umbrella keep you dry when it rains, but doesn’t do much else?

Imagine an umbrella that can take you on an adventure.

The Magical Umbrella is performed by disabled and non-disabled dancers and musicians and is the result of a dance, music and film project with Herefordshire and Worcestershire special schools. It forms part of Dancefest’s access and inclusion programme, Big Jigsaw.

The Magical Umbrella helps us see the world through the eyes of Finn, a boy with a sense of adventure and a desire to put wrong things right, with the help of his magical umbrella. It’s a performance to delight the senses and is suitable for all ages.

So take cover and get whisked away to imaginary worlds....

Taking part this year are Blackmarston an Marlbook Primary, Westfield School, Barrs Court School, Regency High School, The Contact Course from Hereford College of Arts and Dancefest’s Jigsaw Performance Group and Elevate and Elevate Junior youth dance companies.

It's a rewarding experience for all who take part, and equally for members of the audience to watch the performance and to share in the accomplishments of all those involved.

The performance lasts approximately 70 minutes with no interval.

£11.50/£6 concessions, family ticket £25
