Club Marconi celebrates the biggest day of the Italian calendar with the people of Sydney! Join us on Sunday 31 May for the biggest festival of the year.
More than 20,000 people are expected to celebrate la dolce vita at the Italian Republic Day Festa at Club Marconi, proudly sponsored by Peter Warren Fiat Alfa.
Republic Day, or Festa della Repubblica, marks the day in 1946 that Italians voted to abolish the monarchy and become a republic. It has since become a national holiday and a proud celebration of Italian culture the world over.
As a club with proud Italian origins, Club Marconi celebrates the biggest day on the Italian calendar with the people of Sydney. It will celebrate the occasion with a spectacular outdoor gala.
The day will begin with a commemorative mass at 11am, followed by the Italian and Australian National Anthems before launching into a spectacular array of carnival rides, Italian vintage car and Ducati motorcycle displays, street performers, kid’s amusements, pony rides and market stalls.
A dazzling line-up of top-class entertainers promises something for everyone. They include Paolo Rajo and Frank De Bellis Showband, renowned artists Caludio Sandrelli – La Voce Di Napoli, Francesca Pansironi, future Australian superstar, Tony Sergi, The Voice Australia finalist, Danni Da Ros, a live (and spectacular) performance by the Barbara Easton Dance Studio and the hilarious comedy of Mr James Liotta.
There will also be around 80 market and food stalls offering traditional Italian fare, plus plenty of multicultural food, sweets, treats and products.
Children and adults alike will be thrilled by the exciting rides planned for the day, including the Free Fall, Supertrooper, Cup and Saucer, the Inflatable World, Mini Chairs & the Train. Children will be given an opportunity to learn (or perfect) their soccer skills with the Western Sydney Wanderers Soccer School plus have their faces painted for free by Club Marconi’s bambini favourites, Pinky & Kozi.
To conclude the event Club Marconi is putting on a spectacular fireworks display, by International Foti Fireworks.
Republic Day is one of the biggest events on Club Marconi’s social calendar and brings together vibrant Italian culture and an array of multicultural communities from across Sydney.
Best of all, entry to the event is free.
