Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Canberra Irish Cub.

Start the day at Molly Blooms with a full Irish breakfast at 7am, for only $15. Then enjoy great craic all day with live music and Irish Dancing from midday to 12am.

Night Potion kick-start the live music program at 12pm. This four-piece band specialise in Celtic Rock and instrumental traditional Irish music. Fusing blues, folk and rock, Night Potion is Dublin born Caroline Mc Nicholas (vocalist/songwriter/flutist) and Johnny Reynolds (guitar/vocalist) together with Paul Callan (bass) and Bernie Keenan (drums/percussion). Their eclectic sound entwines McNicholas’ and Reynolds’ Irish roots and twenty plus years performing on the professional music scene. They perform original songs and some covers, creating a diverse contemporary sound. Special guest singer Carmel Conway will join them for this special St Patrick’s Day performance.

Humbug will have you dancing from 4pm-8pm with their renditions of classic Irish favourites. Humbug is a four-piece band playing traditional and contemporary Irish and Scottish songs. They have been playing at festivals, pubs, clubs, celebrations and events for years and are passionate about Celtic music. The band is: Malcolm Bennett - vocals, guitar, Rachel Antone- vocals, and percussion, Simone Dawson - vocals, woodwind and Frank Nizynski- vocals, bass. Enjoy their soaring harmonies, groovy rhythms, tapestried instrumentation and funky bass lines.

Cassidy's Ceili... a band so Celtic it'll turn yer ears green...
Cassidy’s Ceili will complete the music program for the day, playing from 9pm – 12am. Cassidy Richens Buxton and her band bring you delicate ballads, rowdy pub songs and all those Irish favourites you didn't know you knew, delivered with the ease and power that comes from playing together for over 15 years to audiences across Australia. Sandy Gibbney plays the fiddle: jigs, reels and airs from Ireland and Scotland. Plus rare gems from the Donegal tango tradition. Pete Richens plays guitar, banjo and bouzouki, while he and Sandy harmonise with Cassidy for some celtalicious choruses. Jonathan Jones and Ian Blake toured for many years as drummer and bass player with Eric Bogle (The Band Played Waltzing Matilda) and lurk at the back of the stage providing the groove for Cassidy's Ceili.
