Ed Aczel “Britain’s greatest living anti-comedian” (Guardian) returns to the road for his 3rd nationwide stand-up tour.

No Aczel show would be complete without a prediction of the forthcoming apocalypse and ‘Foreign Policy’ is no different. Come along – it'll probably be fine –remember just think peace for a bit guys... yeah?

Comedy (in the room) and foreign policy (in the world) are both about tension levels, so it seems obvious to Ed to combine them into one glorious soup.

The show is a proper chance for Aczel to run through the major foreign policy conundrums of our age, in a strictly, linear and geographical way whilst also gunning for a light, big laugh comedy atmosphere. He’ll also seek out a bit of personal foreign policy which everyone can relate to.

When will China get a Blue Water Navy? And who cares? Can Russia ever get a warm water port and why Ukraine? What about North Korea then? and what can I really do for Britain if it can’t do anything for me? Foreign Policy will address these pressing questions whilst keeping everyone giggling (ideally uncontrollably)..

Edward Aczel began performing stand up in 2005 at the age of 38. By the end of 2005, he was the runner-up in both prestigious BBC New Comedy Awards and in Jimmy Carr’s Comedy Idol (which was filmed for the extras on Jimmy Carr’s 2005 live DVD).

Ed is now a regular headliner on the comedy circuit, and has performed six solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival. 2007’s show was hailed by Jimmy Carr on BBC2’s Culture Show as “the funniest thing on the Fringe.” And in 2008 Ed won the Malcolm Hardee Award.

He has also contributed to several radio shows including BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends, 28 Acts In 28 Minutes, Pick Of The Week and Happy Mondays. Ed’s television work includes recent pilot, “Grass Roots” (London Live) and “Common Ground” for Sky.
