With the ongoing destruction of equal rights, safe spaces and queer haunts all around the world, Planet Earth will soon become inhospitable for the Denim Queens and their non-conformist belief system. There is no alternative but to achieve interstellar travel for all and find a new planet to call home. How will they do this? In the only way they know how... Using the powers of pop stardom, intergalactic sketch comedy, over-the-top costume changes, very big wigs and even a drag alien puppet called Trish….. They'll take you to infinity and beyond!
Best of all yet; once the show is up we enter a new dimension….the Denims invite you to AFTER PARTY away as DJs spin Pop anthems, 90s R'n'B & 80s Disco! This party's gonna be truly out of this world!
Been living on Mars? Don't know who Denim Are?Drag supergroup DENIM were established by Glamrou (Amrou Al-Kadhi) at Cambridge University in 2010. DENIM was the university's first and only professional drag troupe, watched and celebrated by thousands of students over the years. Since then, the DENIM girl band and their unique take on drag have been watched and appreciated by thousands, touring across the UK, selling out at Vault Festival in Waterloo, playing the Arts Theatre in Leicester Square, and headlining Port Eliot Festival in Cornwall in 2014. In 2015, they performed with the headline act Florence & The Machine live onstage at Glastonbury. The troupe is led by five singers and actors – The Denims; Glamrou La Denim, Crystal Vaginova, Electra Cute, Shirley Du Naughty & Aphrodite Jones. DENIM invite the audience to revel in the liberation of their performances – a vibrant carousel of twisted pop classics and original songs interspersed with sketch and stand-up comedy. Proudly sponsored by MAC Cosmetics and Bumble and Bumble Style, DENIM won't disappoint when it comes to jaw-dropping, razor-sharp looks. That's a DENIM guarantee! The DENIMS have received praise from several cultural figures including Simon Amstell, Marina and the Diamonds, Clean Bandit, Florence Welch, Keira Knightly, Mario Testino, Ian McKellen, and Stephen Fry who has tweeted that drag troupe DENIM are "fighting bigotry."
