Cowpuncher

Cowpuncher – a born and raised Calgary band specializing in sweaty, punchy rock n’ roll – is gearing up for the 2015 release of their fourth album, Hustle. Working with Toronto based producer Derek Downham (Serena Ryder, Jim Cuddy, Sam Roberts) Cowpuncher has energized their roots infused rock ‘n’ roll with driving beats and pulsing bass lines to bring their audiences the high-energy rock experience they’ve come to expect.
Playing over 60 shows in five provinces in 2014 alone, these veteran performers have [un]graced the stages at Sled Island in Calgary, Canada Music Week in Toronto, and Dauphin Country Fest in Dauphin, MB. They were also selected alongside 10 Calgary artists to represent the city’s talent at SoundOff, an event where music industry delegates from across North America were flown in to attend live performances and network with the bands. Cowpuncher’s intense, high energy live show will leave your fist pumping and your ears ringing with their raw, anthemic – yet heartfelt songs.

Craic The Lens

Craic The Lens started as a way for guitarist/vocalist, Justin Wilson, to try something new. A product of eastern Canadian roots and someone influenced by his father’s tales of a childhood in Nova Scotia, that something became a nod to the Celtic genre and a reason to step behind a microphone.
In late 2011 – in Dublin, Ireland – he began writing what would become the first Craic The Lens album. Performing the majority of the musical duties on his own, the album was completed in May of 2012. Eventually, Wilson recruited life-long friend, Taylor Lang, and recent Newfoundland import, Aiden Dunne, to fill out his live sound. And they just sort of never left.
In July 2012, Craic The Lens released their self-titled EP with the single “Waiting in the Water” finding its way to radio stations across the country and in eastern U.S. cities. That September, the band was approached by banjoist, Jake Hall, who would become the band’s official fourth member.
After playing steadily for more than a year – it was time to record a follow-up. In June 2013, they began recording the first songs for "The Cannon". A completely independent work, the 10-song album was released on June 5, 2014 to a packed house at one of Calgary’s premier venues, Broken City. That same month, the band was chosen as a winner of X92.9FM’s annual Xposure contest with their single, “The Jig Is Up.”

Alright Gents

From the picturesque sprawl of the sheltered Calgarian suburbs comes a band called Alright Gents.
With a sound that spans from the boot-stomping twang of their Southern Alberta heritage, to an alt-pop styling that's as sweet and messy as a Stampede mini-donut, Alright Gents are a band all about making you smile and making you sweat.
Alright Gents play rock n’ roll like they’re the Superdogs…out for applause and a place in your heart.
The boys have been up late for the last 3 years making music that ignites your house party spirit and puts you in the mood to open beer bottles with your teeth. The Gents are purveyors of spirited rock n’ roll and they'll even help you clean up afterwards. Each enthusiastic track is written by Mason Jenkins (friendly neighbourhood trans*man) and Garrett Thorson (lead guitar and musical credibility provider) then churned through the artful bass-stylings of Brent Rossall (Montreal import) and feral drumming of Derek Gaudreau (both joyful and triumphant.)
AG placed in the Top Ten for X92.9's Xposure 2014 contest and have played with acts such as The Wisers, Fast Romantics, The Pistol Whips and A Day As Wolves. The band released their first EP “Don’t Like Red” in 2014 and recently released their sophomore EP "Gentlemen's Club" on April 25th, 2015.
Alright Gents' sound is the windows of your parent's van rolled down with your high school crush in the passenger seat. Their heroes echo in the sound proofing of dimly-lit dive bars and in the sharpied names of Calgary rock bands from before.

The Heirlooms
The heirlooms has four band-mates who at long-last have found each other from many walks of life.
Matthew Spreen, master composer man of many great skills rocking rhythm guitar. Bobby Henderson, the bomb electric, slipping sweet solo's into the hearts of every listener. Kyle Edwards, A subtle yet striking beat bringing drummer sure to make you kick off those shoes and dance. Lastly Kat Westermann, a short... but soulful singing sweetheart with a hint of sass.
